        Creating my own myth about a mother who views her daughter as competition gave me a much deeper understanding of myth as more than just a traditional story. It became a way to explore human fears and inherited emotional patterns. When studying myths, I often focused on their symbolism and moral lessons. However, writing one myself required me to actively use these elements, making intentional choices about what each symbol, like the mirrors, would represent. This process helped me see how myths are carefully shaped to express complex psychological truths in a way that is universal. One of the biggest differences I noticed is that studying myths can sometimes feel analytical, while creating one is much more personal. In developing Elira’s character, I had to think about the root of her behavior and what experiences could realistically shape her.
