Myths Myths Myths Myths and more Myths...

Creating my own myth about a mother who views her daughter as competition gave me a much deeper understanding of myth as more than just a traditional story. It became a way to explore human fears and inherited emotional patterns. When studying myths, I often focused on their symbolism and moral lessons. However, writing one myself required me to actively use these elements, making intentional choices about what each symbol, like the mirrors, would represent. This process helped me see how myths are carefully shaped to express complex psychological truths in a way that is universal. One of the biggest differences I noticed is that studying myths can sometimes feel analytical, while creating one is much more personal. In developing Elira’s character, I had to think about the root of her behavior and what experiences could realistically shape her. By giving her a backstory of watching her own mother lose beauty and worth, I was able to understand how fear and in...

Discussion on poetry

I have found that writing poetry and writing about poetry feel surprisingly different. Writing poetry is more emotional which almost always begins with a specific moment, image, or a memory that lingers. When I write poems, I rely on vulnerability. I do not always know where a poem will end when I begin. On the other hand, writing about poetry requires  me to slow down and analyze deeper. Instead of simply feeling the poem I examine the poems language devices and analyze why certain lines are powerful or how specific techniques create emotion. In this way, writing about poetry feels more structured and strategic, but it still requires a different viewpoint of interpretation so that we are all not collectively talking about the same thing.        Interestingly, writing about poetry has strengthened my own creative work. When I analyze how a poet uses imagery or language devices effectively, I become more aware of those tools in my own w...

About me

Hello guys! My name is Heleyna Guardado and I am an aspiring future lawyer. I am currently in my senior year of college as well as working as a law office assistant for Law Office of Michelle Castillo. On my free time I love heading to the gym, hanging around my friends, and studying for the LSAT/ learning Spanish. I also make and design my own clothes where I sell on Depop :0 For my thoughts on media technology, I believe it should support and enhance teaching by making learning more accessible and engaging without replacing our actual teachers. It helps explain complex ideas, supports different learning styles, and encourages creativity and critical thinking when students use it to create, not just consume. It can be a helpful tipple in the learning field if used correctly. However, I'm speaking on this in a "perfect world context". If my idea of media technology proves corrupt then I believe students can most defiantly over rely on digital tools and can reduce face-to...
